The total Budget Estimate of the Department for the year 1999-2000 was Rs. 110.88 crore, which included Rs. 90 crore for the Plan Schemes and Rs. 20.88 crore for the Non-Plan Schemes. At the Revised Estimate (1999-2000) stage the BE was Rs. 86.00 crore for the Plan schemes and Rs. 20.67 crore for Non-Plan schemes totaling Rs. 106.67 crore. A budget estimate of Rs. 158.00 crore has been approved by the Government for the programmes of the Department during 2000-01, of which Rs. 135 crore is meant for Plan schemes and Rs. 23 crore is for Non-Plan schemes.
